Procaine hydrochloride 5% injection veterinary

Procaine Hydrochloride 5% Injectable Solution is a sterile, short-acting local anesthetic of the amino-ester class, containing 50 mg of procaine HCl per mL. It acts by reversibly blocking sodium channels in nerve cells, preventing membrane depolarization and producing local anesthesia. Widely used in veterinary practice for field block, perineural administration, and local infiltration anesthesia in cattle, horses, dogs, and cats, this 5% high-concentration formulation is particularly indicated for minor surgical procedures including dehorning and disbudding in cattle. Manufactured in GMP-certified facilities, Procaine 5% Injection is available in 100 mL multi-dose vials for veterinary use."

Usage and Dosage	5% is a high concentration original solution that needs to be diluted according to its intended use before use

Excessive dosage can lead to absorption and cause toxic symptoms of central nervous system excitation followed by inhibition. Horses are sensitive to this product and should be used with caution. [Other taboos]: Avoid co administration with digitalis, as the metabolite diethylaminoethanol can enhance its ability to slow down heart rate and atrioventricular conduction. Alkaline and oxidizing agents can easily cause the decomposition of this product. Caution should be exercised when using vasoconstrictors in peripheral areas (such as the distal limbs) to avoid ischemia.
