Usage: Yohim-bine is most commonly used to reverse the effects of certain anesthetic drugs, especially those that belong to alpha 2-adrenergic agonists such as Xylazine and Detomidine.
Mechanism: These anesthetic drugs exert their effects by stimulating alpha 2-adrenergic receptors, but may also lead to excessive sedation or respiratory depression. Yohim-bine helps restore animal consciousness, motor ability, and normal physiological function by antagonizing alpha 2-adrenergic receptors.
